Did you know that if your mobile number is registered in your Aadhar card, then you can update the data of your Aadhar card online? You can not change your Photo, Name, Gender, DOB, and Mobile number by using it, You can only change your Address online, for other mentioned changes you must visit any Aadhar center with proper documents.

Note: UIDAI discontinued online changes of Aadhar details like Name, Gender, DOB, Mobile number, and Email ID. Only Changing of Address is Permitted Online.

Now follow these simple steps to update your Aadhar card address online. You can also change your address by post or by going to the Aadhar center.

Step 1: Visit the Aadhar website ( Enter the required details as shown below.

Step 2: Select update Address via Address Proof and click continue/proceed for the next step.

Step 3: Now your default Address will be shown here, now you can update a new/correct Address by filling the data in the selected fields. And submit the form and URN (Update request number) will be generated, In the next step select the BPO for review of the update. Now attach the original scan of the support documents.

Note that before changing your address, your filled address will be matched with the given proof. Only then will your address be updated.

Now you finished the update process, wait for a few days for your update takes place, alternatively, you can check your Address status using URN (Update request number).

How to update Aadhaar Card 3

Because you are changing the address, so you must also give proof of your new address. You can give your Passport, Bank statement, Ration card, Voter identity card, Driving license, etc. as proof.

You must scan and upload one of these documents.

Keep in mind that before you scan the document (proof) you self-attest it. I will suggest that first copy the document, self-attest it and then scan it.

Are there any Fees for Aadhar card update online?

Updating Aadhar through online mode can be done free of cost. However, if you are visiting an enrolment center for an update then you have to pay Rs. 25/- (excluding taxes) to the service provider each time you get your details updated.
